The terms
These terms cover the website of Swift Kingdom, the one-person jam kitchen run by Daiki Fukuda in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka, and the way jars, boxes and gift sets are ordered through it. By browsing the site or placing an order you accept them. We have kept them in the plain voice we use for the jam labels.

Our content
The texts, photographs and kitchen notes on this site, including the articles about sudachi, persimmons and sugar ratios, are our own work unless credited. You are welcome to read them, link to them and quote a few lines with a credit. Copying them into a shop listing, a cookbook or an advertisement without asking first is not permitted, and neither is using the Swift Kingdom name or label design on goods we did not make.

What may change
Jam depends on fruit, and fruit does not follow a catalogue. Varieties on the site, such as Persimmon and Ginger, Sudachi and Honey or Roasted Chestnut and Brandy, may sell out or pause until the next harvest, and prices such as the ¥980 starting price of the online shop can move with the cost of fruit and glass. We keep the pages up to date in good faith, but the site is an introduction and not a binding offer.

Placing an order
An order is accepted when Daiki confirms it by email with the items, the total and the expected dispatch. Orders placed before Wednesday normally leave the kitchen the same week, usually on Thursday or Friday, and orders inside Fukuoka city sometimes arrive the next day. Dispatch dates are our best estimate, since a late delivery of fruit can delay a batch, and we will write to you promptly if yours is affected.

Subscription box and gift sets
The monthly subscription box of three jars is chosen by Daiki according to what is ripest, so you cannot pick individual varieties. You may pause or end a subscription by writing to us before the first day of the month you wish to skip. Gift sets of three or five jars can carry custom label text and a handwritten card; please check names and spellings, because we copy them exactly as supplied.

Wholesale
Wholesale supply to cafes and specialty food shops in Fukuoka and Kitakyushu starts at 12 jars per variety with a lead time of about two weeks. Prices, payment dates and any exclusivity are agreed in writing before the first delivery, and those written terms prevail over anything on this page.

Storage, shelf life and food safety
Each jar is sealed by hand and carries a shelf life of 12 months from the sealing date, printed on the base. Keep unopened jars cool and dark and refrigerate after opening, where the contents last about three weeks. If the lid moves when pressed in the centre, the seal has failed and the jar should not be stored. Our jams contain fruit and sugar and are made in a kitchen that also handles nuts such as chestnuts, so please tell us about allergies before you order.

Damaged or wrong items
If a jar arrives broken or leaking, write to hello@swift-kingdom.com within seven days with a photograph of the parcel and the jar, and we will replace it or refund it. Jars that are simply not to your taste are a harder case; write to us anyway, because we would rather learn why than have the jar sit in a cupboard. Nothing in these terms limits the rights that Japanese consumer law gives you.
0914
Prices and payment
All prices on the site are in Japanese yen. The total for your order, including carriage to your address, is stated in our confirmation email before you are asked to pay, so there should be no surprises at the door. We do not take card details by email, and an order is not packed until payment has been received.

Delivery and the gift season
We send jars by courier to addresses in Japan. Around Ochugen in summer and Oseibo at year end, couriers are at their busiest and parcels can take a day or two longer, so if a gift has to arrive on a particular date please order at least ten days ahead and mention the date in your message. A missed delivery slot is between you and the courier, but we will help to trace the parcel.

Your personal data
What we do with your name, address and messages is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. By ordering you agree that we may use your details to prepare and send your order and to keep the records the law requires.
1214
Liability
We are responsible for this site and for the goods we ship to the extent the law requires and no further. We are not liable for the content of external sites we link to, for delays caused by couriers or weather, or for decisions taken solely on the basis of the general advice in our articles.

Updates and governing law
We may update these terms as the kitchen grows, and the version published here is the one in force. These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and any dispute that cannot be settled by talking will be heard in the first instance by the Fukuoka District Court.
